2026/2027 PLAYER INTEREST FORM
PLEASE NOTE:
Pre-registration is required, and all tryout fees are non-refundable. Tryouts are not callback-based, and athletes are not required to attend both sessions to be considered. However, we highly encourage attending both dates for maximum visibility, as it provides our coaching staff with additional opportunities to evaluate each athlete. Please note that tryout shirts are limited due to additional sign-ups after production.

Pre-registration is required for all participants. Please complete our Online Tryout Registration Form. Note that all tryout fees are non-refundable.
Please ensure you bring the following forms to the tryouts:
- OVR Waiver
- USA Volleyball Code of Conduct
- Signed waiver forms
- Proper volleyball attire (knee pads, athletic shoes)
- Water bottle
- Any required medical information
Tryouts will take place at Courts 4 Sports in Mason, Ohio, home to our CVA and Cincy Elite Volleyball teams.
During tryouts, players will:
- Warm up with our Explosion Fitness Team
- Perform various drills to assess skills in serving, passing, setting, hitting, and blocking
- Participate in scrimmages to evaluate game play and teamwork
If you cannot attend the scheduled tryout date, please contact us at CVA@Courts4Sports.com to arrange an alternative evaluation.

Specific Questions
The tryout process includes:
- Warm-up and stretching
- Skill drills for serving, passing, setting, hitting, and blocking
- Game-like scenarios and scrimmages
- Athletic measurements and stat logging with our Explosion Fitness Team
- Evaluation of teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship
Players are evaluated based on:
- Technical skills (serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking)
- Athleticism (speed, agility, strength)
- Game intelligence (decision-making, positioning)
- Teamwork and communication
- Attitude and coachability
CVA fields multiple teams per age group, including national, american & regional teams, to accommodate various skill levels and competitive aspirations.
Rosters will be announced within a week after the tryout sessions but may not be finalized if Evaluations are being held for open positions on that team.
Participants should wear comfortable athletic wear, including:
- T-shirt or tank top
- Shorts or spandex
- Knee pads
- Athletic shoes suitable for volleyball
- Hair tied back and minimal jewelry
Tryouts are closed to parents. Parents are welcome to accompany their player during check-in, but once tryouts begin, we ask that they leave the facility. Parents will not be permitted to re-enter until tryouts are complete.
We welcome players of all skill levels. Our coaching staff is experienced in developing both beginners and advanced players. Please let us know if your child is new to the sport, so we can provide appropriate support and guidance.

Our goal is to place each player on a team where they can develop and contribute effectively. If your child is selected for a different team than expected, we encourage you to discuss any concerns with the coaching staff to understand the rationale behind the decision.
CVA takes player safety seriously. We have protocols in place to manage injuries, including access to medical professionals, injury prevention programs, and support for rehabilitation. Players are encouraged to communicate any injuries to their coaches promptly.
CVA teams have varying levels of commitment based on the competitive level:
- National teams typically practice 2 times per week and participate in tournaments that will require travel and hotel stays.
- American teams typically practice 2 times per week and participate in fewer tournaments including local and travel tournaments.
- Regional teams practice 2 times per week and participate in local and regional tournaments only.
CVA partners with Explosion Athletics to provide a comprehensive strength and conditioning program. This includes:
- Regular fitness assessments
- Tailored workout plans to enhance athletic performance
- Injury prevention strategies
- Nutrition and wellness guidance
CVA provides robust support for college recruitment, including:
- Exposure at high-level tournaments and showcases
- Guidance on the recruitment process
- Assistance with creating recruiting profiles and highlight video
- Connections with college coaches and programs

National teams may travel for regional and national tournaments, requiring overnight stays. Regional teams primarily compete locally, with minimal travel. Detailed travel schedules will be provided at the start of the season.
